NCS Resi Trip 2016: 2016

On day 3 of our 2nd week at NCS we have started the ideas stage of our project. We talked about what our skills are and what we like doing- seeing if any of these skills and interests could be useful to help with our project.

Students came up with lots of great ideas and presented them to each other.

Later today we will write details of our project and put them on the blog for everyone to see.

In the evening we went for a trip to DCC in Dunstable to go to a film club. We watched The Secret Garden. It was a great film that most of the students enjoyed. The mansion house in the film was just like Shuttleworth where we are staying so it was a bit spooky!
On the way home we chose a treat from McDonalds then drove back to Shuttleworth. It was pretty late so most of us went straight to bed. We had a lovely day.

After coming up with ground rules for the group we did the newspaper challenge- students got in to 2 teams and had to try to build the highest structure that they could using just sellotape and newspapers....

Here are some diaries from some of the students for day 2...

Ryan

We got up at 7.30 and got ready for the day. We had breakfast- I had coco pops and tea. We tidied our common room and made our beds then went to the classroom. When we went to the classroom we talked about rules that we must stick to when we are on this trip. We got in to teams- I was in the group that talked about rules when we are in the community then we shared our ideas with the rest of the group. We started talking about ideas for our project. After lunch we did a bit more work – talking about who is in our community that we could help.

In the afternoon we went to Shuttleworth plane museum, I looked at old planes in the museum and found out lots of information about the history of Shuttleworth and the man that owned the mansion house.

We saw some of the planes on the grass outside the museum then we had our dinner which was nice. When we got back to Shuttleworth manor we chilled out in the grounds- playing bulldog game and hide and seek behind the big trees. After that we had showers then did a bit more work- thinking of ideas of projects to do. Then we chilled out again and went to bed. I had a good nights sleep.

Shaunagh

We went to Shuttleworth museum to look at planes and the shop and we had dinner there. We had fish and chips and for pudding we had apple pie with custard.

Chantay

I am enjoying my time in Shuttleworth we went to Shuttleworth plane museum it was really good after that I played with Adam he chucked grass on me. Later I had shower. I enjoyed phoning my Auntie to tell her about my time on the trip.
